Identity
This is my self-portrait. Living in Korea, I was unusually tall as a child, so I received a lot of strange looks. Me in the picture surrounded by foil represents the conservative view of women determined by society. The mackerel in the picture represents society's idea that mackerel should not be too big or too small, and that only mackerel of the right size has value as a product. It also expresses my opposition to the view of people that only 'appropriately sized women' are popular with men. Material : mixed media(acrylic, foils) Size : 40X30 inchKayoung Lee
