Unexpected Company
For this drawing, I used inspriation from my own experiences catching fireflies alone during the summer. Sometimes, at night, I would go out to my backyard by myself and run around chasing fireflies, hoping they would miraculously come up to me and greet me. This illustration is a recereation of that fantasy, as it shows a girl sitting by herself in a forest's clearing, wide-eyed as she enjoys the compamy of a group friendly fireflies.
